Friday morning in August deer & herons

It was a beautiful morning today. It's been hard getting photos of the lake because the sun shines right in my eyes as I pass the dam. Still I wanted to give you all a shot... there was a heron that I saw picking up a fish but I couldn't capture that in this light...

Then I drove down the other side of the mountain, down the "S" curves and across the Amherst town line. At the farm at Haskins Meadow I saw another heron, and then I saw two deer. Those pictures came out better--

saw the 3 deer again

Couldn't get a good picture because they were standing behind some tall grass, but I saw the three deer again that I posted about previously. This time they were on the other side of a garden not far from where I saw them last time. I stopped for a minute or two until traffic came up behind me. Had the camera in my hand but all I could see was the green bushes and trees etc, that they were hiding behind. Looked like mom and two younger ones to me. In any case I'm sure it's the same three that I saw a week or two ago.

Lots of wild life sightings lately but forgot my camera!!

On Friday I was going down the hill later than usual. I spied a coyote in Leverett, almost down to the end of Shutesbury/Leverett Road. It crossed the street in front of me, but no camera.

Yesterday I drove up to Wendell, to take the back way to Greenfield. I saw a fox near Fiske Pond. Later I saw a young deer, still had spots, as I came down the hill between the Wendell State Forest and Millers Falls.

This morning I spied the heron that I've seen many times at Lake Wyola. Unfortunately it was over on one of the private docks and I could not get a good picture of it. Well maybe if I had stopped the car, and walked onto the dam I could have, but I didn't have time for all of that.

So wildlife is happening. I just haven't been quick enough to capture any of it to share with you all.

Hope you are having a great summer!
