Friday morning, August 31st. Photos

Been on vacation from work for a couple of weeks so haven't been getting these great pictures for you all. I'm back now though and I got a few on my way in today.

and a bit further down the road, near the Amherst/Leverett line I came across this one--

Sunday or Monday bird sighting at Lake Wyola

Saw this beauty at one of the private rafts. It was there a couple of times. Wish I had gotten a better picture. Not sure what kind of bird it was.

week of August 6-10th

The rolling fog was kind of nice the other morning. Was just over the lake, shimmering early in the morning. The cows are another story. I saw one away from the lake one day, and recently I have seen two more right near the state beach at private homes. Dressed up to some degree they are rather humorous. The last picture I didn't capture very well as my dashboard obviously got in the way. I just wanted to get a photo of one of the camps/homes in the neighborhood but I suppose the boat and the basketball hoop will have to do.

Wildlife & UMass, Thursday Aug 2, 2012

A picture perfect quiet morning at the lake this morning but I didn't take my camera out until I got down to Leverett. With no traffic around I found these three beauties next to the road. I'm not sure what they are. Turkeys? Seem small, but I have no idea honestly.

A bit further along, I saw a whole field full of turkeys. No mistaking these:

At last I arrived at UMass, just before 7am in time to snap a couple pictures of the sun coming up behind some buildings:

wildlife count August 1st.

This morning I saw a bunny rabbit at the end of our street. Couldn't get a picture of it because it was 2 quick. Also saw 2 birds- quail? pheasants? pretty sure they weren't turkeys. Might have been some babies but it was hard to tell because of the tall grass. Those were near the bottom of the "S" curves in Leverett.

Lake was clear and calm. No one out on it though, and no one at the dam either. I noticed some buoys by the dam. I think those are fairly new. Don't know anything about it though.
