Okay, so this takes place in Turners Falls, and isn't technically part of the geographic area that I cover with this blog but I feel like it fits here.
Photos of Lake Wyola, Shutesbury, MA. Also with occasional posts about the wildlife I see on my commutes through Shutesbury, Leverett, Amherst, and Montague.

End of September but it still feels like summer
It's the end of September but we haven't really peeked for the foliage colors yet. It's coming, but it's slow.
I took a walk on Sunday when the weather was nice. It started off as a chilly morning but it warmed up so much that some kids at the lake went for a swim.
This cute little A-Frame is for sale.
Not sure if you can see the little flamingos behind the big one. The big one is at least 5 feet tall.
The pirate flag flies proudly at another house.
A little fall color.
Yes that is a palm tree, and it is decorated with Christmas lights.
The fishing dock is on the beach.
Some kids at a birthday party decided to get wet.
In another couple of weeks I'm sure the colors will be more changed. In the meantime we'll enjoy it as long as we can.

Wildlife Friday
It's a beautiful August morning, mid-August, and the commute to work was not a bad one today.
One place I pass by is a veterinarian's home where zoo animals are occasionally treated. Since it's out in the woods I regularly see turkeys and other birds in the area as well. Today we were greeted by a peacock.
Further down the road, at a farm I pulled over to watch a deer for a few seconds.
Once I got to campus, the fog was rising, but still low enough so that the dorms of Southwest were in the clouds so to speak. (Pardon the traffic)-
I got to my office and was about to put my camera aay when I spotted this couple stopping by for a visit. If I'd gotten to the window faster I could have given you a better photo, but it is what it is.-

The photos not taken
I can only HOPE to some day get another chance to get this photo.... I saw a horse grazing in it's pasture surrounded by a flock of turkeys. I've seen the horse there many times, and I've seen the turkeys there many times. However I'd never seen them together like that before. It was awesome. It was also on a busy road and raining so I didn't stop. Next time. Next time. Next time.
There is also a place that I have been passing by in the afternoons where llamas or alpacas are grazing with chickens. I haven't taken a photo of that yet either. I should sometime. I really should.

deer in Montague
I got this photo a few days ago but the deer is so far from the road I'm not sure if you will be able to see it well enough.
