Photos of Lake Wyola, Shutesbury, MA. Also with occasional posts about the wildlife I see on my commutes through Shutesbury, Leverett, Amherst, and Montague.

Monday Morning, July 30, 2012
Well I had the camera ready but it was so foggy that the lake was just gray. Nothing to see there really just a giant wall of gray. Sorry folks. Couldn't really get a picture that I thought would show up well. Maybe I should have taken one anyway but I didn't.

Thursday Morning
The lake looked pretty quiet at 6:30am as I headed to work, and then as I passed the dam I spied what appeared to be a family. Might be a little blurry but we'll see how it came out here...

Monday Post
This view doesn't change much except for the leaves on the trees. I wanted to take a picture of the water this morning at the state beach but the fishermen saw me and I chickened out. 1 boat with 2 guys fishing at 6:30am but I took my foot off the brake and kept going. I was a few minutes behind schedule so lots of traffic and no wildlife sightings.

weekend post
I didn't head out early Saturday or Sunday with the camera. Since I had the days off from work I stayed home in the mornings. The beach was full of people enjoying the sun both Saturday and Sunday. Wildlife sightings were likewise down since I was out and about during the afternoon and early evening hours.
We were blessed to see two people on horseback come riding down our street today though. We have seen the gentleman rider many times and today he had a female companion. They stopped at the soda machine at my neighbor's and chatted. My daughter said a shy "Hello" to them while she rode her "horse" ( a 2 seater swing).

Friday morning
Unfortunately I forgot to change the batteries on my camera. I almost took a picture of a couple on the dam but they saw me and I chickened out. Then the camera died anyway so I couldn't get any other pictures. The only wildlife I saw this morning (aside from the usual) was a bright red cardinal that flew right in front of my car. It was beautiful but quick.
Thursday afternoon
Got out of the car and got some different views. These are from the area of Kinder Beach, a private beach between the state beach and the dam. I had another shot I wanted to take but my daughter was with me and I couldn't quite get there. There ended up being about 4 ducks, and a lady came out of one of the houses next to the water and fed them.

Weekend wildlife count
Saturday went out to Wendell, New Salem, and eastward. Saw one brown rabbit on Shore Drive, Shutesbury next to the Association hall. Saw flock of turkeys in New Salem (doesn't count).
Sunday I didn't leave the house, no report.

New blog, first post
This blog will be mostly photos hopefully. I plan to take pictures of Lake Wyola and post them here. If I am good I will take a photo every day. We'll see how it goes. I may also post brief postings of the wildlife I see in my travels.
Today I saw 2 turkeys, a deer, and 2 bunny rabbits, not at the lake but in Cushman/North Amherst and at UMass (the bunny rabbits).
